GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Thomas Caufield hit for the cycle and drove in four runs, and Ben Wilchacky continued his stellar start to the season by tossing five shutout innings in Millersville's 15-0 romp over Alderson Broaddus Friday afternoon.
Caufield joined Luke Trainer as the second Marauder in as many seasons to record a single, double, triple and home run in the same game. Caufield's two-run home run put Millersville on top 2-0 in the top of the first, and in the second, he tripled in a pair for a 4-0 Millersville lead.
Jimmy Losh hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning and finished game 3-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs scored.
On the mound, Wilchacky (3-0) won for the third time in as many starts. A single to the second batter he faced was the only baserunner that reached against Wilchacky. He struck out seven for the second game in a row.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
• Early, it was Losh setting the table from his leadoff spot, Caufield driving him in, and Luke Trainer following with an RBI hit of his own. • Trainer plated another run in the third with an RBI ground out, and then in the fourth, it was Losh's turn to drive in runs. He smacked a three-run homer--his first of the season. Freshman Sam Morris drove in Losh with a single, and Keegan Soltis brought home Morris with a single of his own in the sixth. John Seibert capped the scoring with an RBI groundout in the seventh.
