
'Ville women's tennis travel to Bloomsburg for PSAC Individual Championship

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - Three members of the Millersville women's tennis program will travel to Bloomsburg University to compete in the PSAC Individual Championship which was delayed from its original date due to weather.
Noelle Htwar, Maria Ojeda, and Hui Jen Soo will compete in singles action. Htwar and Ojeja will team up to play in the doubles bracket.
Htwar and Jen Soo have seen singles action in all three of Millersville's matches and have one win each. Their wins occurred at the Bloomsburg Invitational. Going 1-1 in flight one, Htwar claimed her win over Nicole Ilkovic of Bloomsburg (1-4, 4-2, 11-9). Soo also went 1-1 in flight three with her win over Bloomsburg's Luana Bernardi (4-1, 4-2).
Ojeda has three singles wins under her belt. During the Bloomsburg Fall Invite, she went 1-1 in flight two. Her performance at the ITA Regionals consisted of two consolation bracket victories, defeating Bloomsburg's Nicole Ilkovic 6-1, 6-3 and Salem's Daria Korsakova, 8-6.
Millersville's No. 1 doubles team of Htwar and Ojeda went 1-1 during the Bloomsburg Invitational and advanced to the fifth-place match. They competed in the ITA Regionals against some of the top competition in the region and defeated Mercyhurst's Sara Bertolez Puente and Valentine Budin 6-4 in the opening round.
The three-day event is scheduled to begin on Saturday, October 8 and conclude on Monday, October 10. The PSAC Championships will be held at the Burt Reese Tennis Center at Bloomsburg University. Women's doubles are set to begin at 10 a.m. and women's singles will start at 11:30 a.m.
