MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Both Millersville (1-6-3, 1-5-3 PSAC East) and Shepherd (4-4-3, 3-4-2 PSAC East) scored early second half goals in Saturday's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East matchup, leading to a 1-1 draw at Pucillo Field on senior day.
The Marauders controlled pace in first half action, holding the Rams to no shot opportunities, while sending five shots towards the Shepherd net. However, Aalivia Wainwright was the only Marauder to record a shot on-frame in the first 45', which was stopped by the Rams' keeper -- this led to a scoreless game at the break.
Isabel Coy, who scored her first career goal in Wednesday's nail-biting loss to No. 5 West Chester, found the back of the net again Saturday. The freshman received a pass from Morgan Winchock and beat the Rams' defense to give 'Ville the game's first lead.
Shepherd would respond 10 minutes later when Lydia Gable found Delaney Bittner in the Marauder box. Bittner would send an equalizer into the right side of 'Ville's net.
Neither team was able to score in the final 35 minutes of play, resulting in the Marauders' third draw of 2022; all three coming in PSAC East play.
