MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The Millersville University women's soccer team fell to Shepherd 1-0 on Wednesday. The Marauders finished with five shots, three on goal, and created three of their four corner kicks after halftime.
Shepherd generated more attempts overall, finishing with 10 shots and six on goal, while Millersville totaled five shots with three on frame. Megan Taltavull recorded six saves for the Marauders, and Millersville added a late spell of two shots and two corner kicks while trailing.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Marauders withstood extended Shepherd pressure for much of the first half, with Megan Taltavull making six saves to keep the match scoreless. Aubrey Strohecker took both Millersville shots, including one on frame, but Shepherd was credited with a team goal and the Marauders went to halftime trailing 1-0.
Millersville's second-half push came while trailing 1-0, with back-to-back corner kicks before Kyla Kastner put a shot on frame that Alex Stuart saved. Aubrey Strohecker also forced a save earlier in the half, and Sierra Crisafulli sent a late attempt high right as the Marauders searched for an equalizer. The half ended scoreless, and Millersville fell to Shepherd 1-0.
