SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Millersville University volleyball team (6-13) fell to 1-3 in PSAC-East play on Friday night with a loss at Shippensburg University. The Marauders won the first set, before dropping three straight to end the match.
HOW IT HAPPENED
25-22, 10-25, 23-25, 21-25
- Â The Marauders got off to a strong start in the first set, earning the first three points of the match. Trailing 10-17 later in the set, Millersville went on a nine-point run to retake the lead as Ville went ahead 19-17. Emily Hoffman would end the set with an ace, securing the 25-22 win for the Marauders.
- The second set was all Raiders, as Shippensburg jumped ahead 9-3 and never look back, tying the match at 1-1.
- The third set was the closest set of the match, with 12 ties and eight lead changes as the Marauders and Raiders battled back and forth. With Ville leading 23-22, Shippensburg went on a three-point run to close the set and take a 2-1 match advantage.
- Â With a chance to close things out on their home court, the Raiders worked ahead to 6-2 lead in the fourth set. Millersville scored the opening point of the set, but after giving up a pair of points, Shippensburg would lead the rest of the set. The Marauders kept things close, working to a 19-21 disadvantage late in the set, but Ville was unable to close the gap.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Caitlyn Callahan and Lauren Lucas led Ville with 11 kills each. Kylie Airesman (10) was also in double figures.
- Callahan and Sarah Leininger both recorded three blocks.
- Rebecca Dalstad led Ville with 17 digs. Emily Hoffman and Emma Ludwig were also in double figures for Ville, with 13 and 12 digs respectively.
- The Marauders recorded just one ace in the match, tied for their fewest of the season.
- Ville recorded seven team blocks, good for their fifth highest total of the season.
