Volleyball returns home for pair of PSAC matches

  • The Marauders hold a 2-1 record against Bloomsburg. The Huskies earned their first win of the all-time series back on Oct. 1 in a five-set win. A recap of that match can be found here.
  • Millersville is 16-30 all time against Lock Haven. The Marauders swept the Bald Eagles back on Oct. 2 in their first meeting of the season. A recap of that match can be found here.

  • Millersville volleyball returns home this Friday and Saturday for a pair of matches in Pucillo Gymnasium. 
  • The Marauders will take on Bloomsburg on Friday night at 7:00 and Lock Haven on Saturday at 1:00 as Millersville returns to PSAC-East action following last week’s non-conference matches in Delaware.
We mixed it up in our first match, it was fun, and we came back to close it out. In the second match we played a quality team and we played well, I was pleased with the effort and the team energy and attitude today.

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

  • The Ville offense is led by Lauren Lucas (277) and Caitlyn Callahan (238) as the pair have each totaled over 200 kills on the season.
  • The Marauders have been aggressive at the service line, with Emily Hoffman (40) Emma Ludwig (26) , and Lucas (25) all recording 20+ aces. 
  • Callahan has been a force at the net, tallying 91 blocks on the season. 
  • Becca Dalstad (335) and Hoffman (242) and Ludwig (211) have both recorded 200+ digs on the season.
  • Ludwig has continued her strong season as the Ville setter, tallying 784 assists through her 91 sets of action.

 

SCOUTING THE BLOOMSBURG HUSKIES (FRI.)

  • Sydney Buell (217) has led the Huskies in kills. Grace Giza and Mary Kate Mooney are tied for second on the team with 148 kills.
  • Bloomsburg has used a two-setter system, with Bryn Stek (304) and Aydan Espinal (297) recording the bulk of the assists.
  • Alyssa Cianciulli has been the best defender for Bloomsburg, tallying 557 digs, more than double the next closest total.
  • The Huskies have been outstanding with their blocking, as Mia Nicholes (84) Grace Giza (79) and Liz Bopp (65) have all had strong seasons at the net.
  • Buell has also been the most dangerous Husky at the service line as she has recorded a team high 35 aces.Rudjord has also been the teams best player at the net as she has recorded a team high 65 blocks. Whitney Grace is second with 53.

 

SCOUTING THE LOCK HAVEN BALD EAGLES (SAT.)

  • Gabriela Fialova (192) and Grace Hugar (183) are the two main offensive weapons for LHU as they are the only attackers with 100+ kills.
  • Kelly Gaston leads the Bald Eagles in assists with 527.
  • Ella McBride (33) and Fialova (26) are the top players at the service line, leading the team in aces.
  • On the defensive ends, Regan Happ (325) Fialova (239) and Grace Hugar (209) are the top three in digs for LHU.
  • Alyssa Daley leads the team in blocks with 27. She is closely followed by Meghan Tennant who has 25 blocks.

THE LAST TIME OUT

  • Millersville: The Marauders split their non-conference double header last Saturday as Millersville picked up a win against Caldwell before falling to Wilmington. The full recap can be found here.  
  • Bloomsburg: The Huskies picked up their 10th win of the season last Friday as they swept Lock Haven on the road. The full recap can be found here.
  • Lock Haven: The Bald Eagles were swept by Bloomsburg last Friday as Lock Haven fell to 3-15 on the season. Lock Haven has a match this Friday night at West Chester as the Eagles start a four-match road stand. Saturdays match at Millersville will be the second match of the road stand.
