
Millersville University football mourns the loss of Michael Jacoby

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Millersville University and its football team mourns the loss of incoming freshman Michael Jacoby, who passed away on Thursday, June 4 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Jacoby, a Philadelphia, Pa., native and Northeast High School graduate, signed to play offensive line for the Marauders on National Letter of Intent Day.
"We are devastated by the passing of Michael Jacoby," said Millersville head coach J.C. Morgan. "Mike stood out during the recruiting process because of his engaging personality and his ability to connect with everyone. Our staff could sense his genuine excitement to attend college and play football at Millersville. He will be deeply missed. Our prayers for peace are with his parents, Charles and Lauren, his sisters, and the entire Jacoby family."
Jacoby helped his Northeast teams to back-to-back Public League titles and was heavily recruited by PSAC East teams. He intended to study business marketing.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Sunday, June 14 at Wackerman Funeral Home at 8060 Verree Road in Philadelphia. The funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 15 at 10 a.m., at St. Cecilia Church, located at 535 Rhawn Street.
The family requested that in lieu of flowers, donations in Michael's memory can be made to the Daniel Sweeney Scholarship Fund (P.O. Box 24600, Philadelphia, PA 19111). A GoFundMe fundraiser was also established to assist the Jacoby family with expenses. Click here to donate.
