
Men's tennis loses to Merrimack, 6-1

Orlando, Fla. - In its third match in as many days, the Millersville University men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Merrimack College on Tuesday morning.
The Marauders fall to 1-7, while the Warriors improve to 4-5.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
• Carlos Martinez-Lucas continued his strong season and notched Millersville's lone win of the match at flight one singles. After dropping the first set 6-2, he bounced back to win a 7-5 tiebreaker in the second set and handily won the third set, 10-6.
• Martinez-Lucas also teamed up with Peter Landis in flight one doubles, and lost a well-played 6-3 match.
• Frank Yanni played well in his 6-2, 6-3 loss at flight three singles, as did Jose Alcazar in his 6-3, 6-2 loss at flight four singles.

• "Merrimack is very tough and they played very well today. Carlos has been hitting well. He competes hard and sets a great example for the whole team. We're playing good tennis this week. I'm looking forward to a couple more good matches to close out the week."
NOTES
• Carlos Martinez-Lucas is now 5-1 in singles play during the spring season.
• This is the second time these two teams have played each other. The other instance came in 2000, with the Marauders sweeping Merrimack, 9-0.
