
Men's golf finishes top-5 at the Bud Elwell Fall Classic

Erie, Pennsylvania -- Connor Sheehan and Matt Spak tied for ninth as the Millersville men's golf team finished fifth at the Bud Elwell Fall Classic Monday.
Sheehan posted his third top-10 finish in his last four matches. Sheehan shot 2-over-par in the first round for a score of 74. The junior shot 8-over-par in the second round for a score of 80. Sheehan finished the tournament 10-over-par.
Spak finished in the top-10 for the second time in a row. Spak shot 7-over-par in the first round for a score of 79. The sophomore turned it around in the second round, shooting 3-over-par for a score of 75. Spak finished the tournament 10-over-par.
Three men's golfers finished tied for 16th shooting 14-over-par. Mitch Burns shot a 79 in both rounds. Matt Keim and Corey Betham competed as independents and their scores did not count towards the total team score. Keim shot a 78 in the first round and an 80 in the second round. Betham shot an 81 in the first round and a 77 in the second round.
Rodney Anders posted his third top-25 finish this season. In the first round, the redshirt senior shot 11-over-par finishing tied for 33rd. Anders cleaned up his game and shot 6-over-par to finish tied for 25th.
The Millersville men's golf team's next event is Oct. 15 and 16 at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championship in Hershey, Pa.
