
Clarion Blanks Marauders in Daylight Shortened Match

Hilton Head, S.C. – The Millersville women's tennis team fell to the undefeated Clarion Golden Eagles in a 5-0 loss on Monday in South Carolina. The loss dropped the Marauders to 1-3 on the season under head coach Shari Bucklin-Webber.
The dual opened up with a doubles sweep that put Clarion up, 3-0. In No. 1 doubles, Tori Davis and Kaylora Thompson were defeated by Clarion's Lauren Zezenski and Madeline Robinson, 8-2. The duo of Kimberly Theophile and Nicole Daacke didn't fare any better as they were defeated 8-2 by Clarion's Megan Bettwy and Maria Snyder.
In singles play, Maggie Karr was defeated 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 5 matchup, and Brandi Wolemuth was downed 6-4, 6-0 in the No. 6 slot before the dual stopped.
The Marauders are scheduled to play Missouri Valley on Wednesday, March 11.
