Women's Tennis Takes Two Matches But Still Falls to Missouri Valley

Hilton Head, S.C. - The Millersville women's tennis team fell to NAIA Missouri Valley 7-2 Wednesday afternoon.
Marauder Tori Davis was swept in No. 1 singles (6-0, 6-2). The Vikings earned a shutout in No. 2 singles when Marcarena Bielsa defeated Kaylora Thompson by a score of 6-0, 6-0. Millersville's first victory came courtesy of Nicole Daacke in No. 4 singles play. Daacke defeated Christina Fergason by an 8-4 final. In the final singles match of the dual, Samantha Brzenk came away with a 9-7 victory.
No. 1 doubles saw Davis and Thompson take on Bielsa and Adela Gil and the opposing pairing came out on top by an 8-3 final. Kimberley Theophile and Nicole Daacke gave the Vikings No. 2 doubles pair all they could handle, but the opposition prevailed 8-5.
The Marauders continue their spring break matches tomorrow when they square off against PSAC West foe Slippery Rock.
