
Women's Tennis Falls Short Against USciences

Millersville, Pa. - Women's tennis completed their first match against a non-PSAC opponent on Thursday, facing the USciences Devils. The Marauders put up a fight, challenging in all the matches but falling short, 6-3.
Two of the three points awarded to the Marauders came from singles competition. Heather Grove swept UScience's Sara Skoritowski, winning the first set 6-0 and taking the second by a 6-2 score. Kaylora Thompson's match went into a third set resulting in a point for Millersville. The No. 4 player for the Marauders bounced back from a close loss in the first set by taking the second 6-0 and the third 10-8.
In doubles, Thompson teamed up with Kimberly Theophile to defeat USciences duo Abbygail Gamarnik and Andria Dang, 8-2.
Millersville's next match is against Harford CC in Bel Air, Md. The Marauders return to their home court on Oct. 11 against Gwynedd Mercy at 2 p.m.
