
Women's Tennis Comes Up Just Short Against Kutztown

Millersville, Pa. - Millersville took two of three doubles matches and nearly handed Kutztown its first PSAC East loss of the season. The visiting Golden Bears, however, held the advantage in singles and edged the Marauders by a 5-4 score.
Millersville (2-9, 0-4 PSAC East) entered the match trying to snap a five-match losing streak and looking for its first PSAC East win. Kutztown entered on a four-match winning streak and a perfect league mark. Millersville received wins from Alexandra Heller and Stefanie Fisher at No. 2 doubles and Nicole Daacke and Kaylora Thompson at No. 3 doubles to take a 2-1 lead into singles.
Millersville's Tori Davis scored a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles over Tori Zander and Daacke picked up her second point of the day with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Cynthia Good at No. 4 singles. Kutztown picked up straight-set wins in the No. 1, No. 3 and No. 6 slots, and Chelsea Davis battled Fisher for a three-set win to clinch the win for the Golden Bears. Davis took the first set 6-3, but Fisher battled for a 6-3 win of her own in the second. Davis took the match with a 6-4 win in the third set.
Millersville hosts East Stroudsburg on Tuesday, April 8. The program is hosting "Rally for a Cure" during the match to raise awareness for the fight against breast cancer.
