Lacrosse Falls to No. 8 Lock Haven

Box Score Lock Haven, Pa. - The nation's eighth-ranked team proved to be too much for the Millersville women's lacrosse squad on Saturday afternoon as the Marauders lost 16-2 in PSAC action to Lock Haven.

Millersville (5-7, 1-6 PSAC) got off to another slow start and fell behind 9-0 in the first 22 minutes of the game. Senior Brooke Fisher broke the scoreless drought by scoring her 44th goal this year with eight minutes remaining in the half. The Bald Eagles (10-2, 6-1 PSAC) responded by ending the game on a 7-1 run. The lone goal in the second half for the Marauders was from senior Becky Donkin.

Lock Haven's defense kept the high-powered Marauder attack in check all day. The Black and Gold boast the sixth highest scoring offense in the league, but the Bald Eagles held Millersville to a season-low in goals, assists, shots, and draw controls.

Fisher led the Marauders with four shots in the game and is now five goals away from breaking her career record of 48 goals scored in a season. Hannah Vogel fired three shots in the loss. Both Fisher and Vogel collected three draw controls. Kaitlin Crouthamel made 10 saves in the game and has now made 10 or more saves in four straight games.

Millersville has now lost to Lock Haven in back-to-back years after defeating the Bald Eagles in 2012.

The Marauders continue their PSAC slate by hosting Gannon University on Tuesday, April 15. First draw control is scheduled for 4 p.m.
