
Sambrick Wins but Marauders Fall to No. 8 St. Leo

Hilton Head, S.C. - Millersville's Jody Sambrick Jr. won a three-set thriller at No. 1 singles, but the Marauders ultimately fell to No. 8 St. Leo, 8-1.
Outside of Sambrick's win, the Marauders (2-5) won just two total games in the No. 2 through No. 6 singles matches. St. Leo (13-3) also took the first two doubles matches by 8-0 scores. No. 3 doubles went to St. Leo by an 8-3 count.
Sambrick improved to 6-3 on the season and won his third consecutive match. Aloua Adjenak entered the match ranked No. 13 in the highly competitive NCAA South Region. Adjenak earned a narrow 7-6 (7-2) win in the opening set, but Sambrick bounced back with a 7-5 win in the second. He closed out the win by taking the deciding set, 10-3.
The match wrapped up the Marauders' trip to Hilton Head, S.C. They return to McComsey Tennis Courts to start PSAC play on March 28 against Kutztown.
