Lakewood, N.J. - Millersville women's tennis dropped a 6-3 decision to Georgian Court Thursday on the road. The Marauders' record drops to 1-1 while Georgian Court improves to 3-9.
Millersville received singles victories from Heather Grove and Lauren Lefever. Grove won 6-1, 7-5 over Brittany McLaughlin in the No. 5 flight. Lefever's win in the No. 6 slot by a 6-2, 6-2 score. Geogian Court took the top four singles bouts in straight sets.
Georgian Court held an advantage in doubles matches as well. The No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches both went to Georgian Court by a score of 8-1. Millersville scored a point with an 8-4 win in the No. 3 flight from Brandi Wolgemuth and Heather Grove.
Millersville closes its fall schedule on Oct. 12 at home against Roberts Wesleyan.
