Shippensburg, Pa. - In the team's final regular season match of 2012-13, Millersville took down Shippensburg by a score of 8-1. The win gives the Marauders back-to-back PSAC East wins to close the regular season and improves the team's overall record to 7-11, with a East record of 4-2.
All three doubles teams won by scores of 8-2. The tandem of Melissa Plowman and Kelsey Waite defeated Julia Saintz and Brittnee Buckley to start the match. Elizabeth Wagner and Tori Davis followed that victory up with a win of their own over Dani Delgado and Hannah Wolfe. Alexandra Heller and Jess Taleff closed out doubles with a win over Kaity Erickson and Kayla Strohl.
Plowman got singles play started with 6-1, 6-1 wins over Saintz. Waite kept the Marauders' winning ways going by picking up a pair of shutout wins over Buckley, 6-0, 6-0. Wagner then defeated Cassie Sidone by scores of 6-0, 6-1, before Davis took care of Delgado, 6-2, 6-1. Millersville's final win of the day came courtesy of Heller, who topped Lisa Snader by scores of 6-0, 6-4.
The Marauders get to enjoy this win for a few days while gearing up for the PSAC Team Championship. That competition starts on Apr. 16 at Bloomsburg University.
