
No. 2 Golden Rams Blank No. 6 Marauders

West Chester, Pa. - The defending NCAA Division II Champion West Chester Golden Rams blanked Millersville 4-0 in field hockey action Saturday afternoon at Vonnie Gros Field.
The No. 2 Golden Rams (6-1, 3-0 PSAC East) received three goals from Michele Schrift and held Millersville (5-4, 1-2 PSAC East) to three total shots and just one shot on goal. Kristin Arnold turned away the only Marauder shot she faced to record her third consecutive shutout. West Chester has outscored its opponents 16-0 over the last three games.
Schrift broke the scoreless tie at the 18:05 mark on an assist from Kelsi Lykens. She added another from Carley Buckwalter at the 34:00 mark. Kayla Gluchowski scored unassisted at 51:09, and Schrift completed her hat-trick at 55:46.
Ashley Weber recorded Millersville's only shot on goal. Millersville keeper Lauren Sotzin faced eight shots on goal and recorded four saves.
After recording at least one goal in each of the first seven games of the season, Millersville has been shutout in back-to-back games.
Millersville has a quick turnaround, hosting LIU Post on Monday at 4 p.m.
