Hilton Head, S.C. - PSAC rivals Millersville and Slippery Rock met in Hilton Head, S.C. on Wednesday, and it was the PSAC Western Division member that came out on top. Slippery Rock, ranked No. 39 in the nation, improved to 9-2 on the season by topping the Marauders, 9-0.
Millersville, now 2-6 on the season, could not manage a point against The Rock. Junior Melissa Plowman, playing at No. 1 singles, had a three-match winning streak halted by Sarah Lynch, 6-1, 6-2. The No. 1 doubles team of Plowman and Samantha Prager boasted a three-match winning streak as well but ran into Lynch and Dunja Drmac. Slippery Rock's No. 1 team won by an 8-2 score.
Millersville faces Connecticut College Thursday morning and Missouri Valley College Friday morning before returning home.
