
Volleyball Falls Short in West Chester

West Chester, Pa. – The women's volleyball team will be glad to be back at home on Tuesday. After a 3-1 loss today at West Chester, Millersville dropped its record to 6-10 and 1-9 on the road.
The Marauders fought all match with the Rams, but came up short in the end. Millersville started the first set slowly, but closed a big gap before giving way to the Rams, 25-23. The second set was also taken by West Chester, 25-19. The Marauders then flipped the script on the Rams by taking the third set 25-19 before falling in the fourth set, 25-15.
Katie Lesinski and Rebecca Roman paced the Marauders with 11 and nine kills, respectively. Roman also added a .381 hitting percentage. Mary Paul led the way on defense with five blocks (one solo); while Millersville had four players post double digit digs.
Allison Huss was one of those players. She had a team-high 17 digs for the match. Her double-double streak was stopped at two matches as she finished with six kills. Kellie Conahan had 14 digs and Sue Caramanico and Katie Pisano both had 11 digs. Pisano's 11 digs came as part of a double-double that also saw her tally 14 assists.
Millersville gets back in action on their home floor on Tuesday, where they have won five of six matches this season. The Marauders will play a third straight PSAC East match against Shippensburg at 7 p.m.
