Marauders Ground Griffins in First Home Match of Spring

Millersville, Pa. - The Millersville women's tennis team return to McComsey Tennis Courts for the first time since September and blanked Division III Gwynedd-Mercy for its third win of the year.

The Marauders improved to 3-4 overall and 2-0 at home. The 9-0 victory ended a three-dual streak in which Millersville failed to win a match.

Millersville had little trouble dispatching the Griffins. All six singles matches went in straight sets, and in the No. 6 flight, Elizabeth Wagner rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win--the first of her Marauder career.

Wagner also teamed with Kelsey Waite for an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles. Melissa Plowman and Sam Prager, playing together in the No. 1 doubles slot won their team-best fourth match of the year. The duo, playing at No. 1 and No. 2 singles respectively, picked up their team-leading third singles victories of the year, as well.

Millersville looks to get back to .500 on the season on March 25 at Chestnut Hill.
