
No. 9 Millersville Holds Seton Hill Without a Shot

Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville field hockey completed its three-game homestand with a third-straight win on Saturday at Chryst Field at Biemsderfer Stadium. The No. 9 Marauders knocked off Seton Hill by a score of 1-0 to earn their seventh win of the season.
Millersville (7-4) dominated the first half with 10 shots, four on goal. Seton Hill (2-8) battled through the Marauders' offensive attack to keep the game scoreless into the break. Millersville held the Griffins without a shot in the first side.
Senior Ashley Weber notched her second goal of the season in the 64th minute to give the Marauders the lead. Freshman Rachel Dickinson recorded her team-leading eighth point of the year when she fed Weber for the eventual game-winner.
Millersville did not allow the Griffins to get a single shot off in the match, outshooting them by a 13-0 margin. The Marauders also had a significant advantage in penalty corners (20-6).
Seton Hill's Rebecca Portillo made five saves on six shots in the loss. Millersville's Sarah Dickinson earned her fourth shutout of the 2011 season, 15th of her career.
The Marauders have outscored the Griffins by a margin of 18-1 in the last four meetings.
Millersville hits the road for a two-game skid starting Wednesday, Oct. 5 when it travels to East Stroudsburg. The Marauders and Warriors are slated to begin at 4 p.m. Millersville then travels for a rematch against No. 7 Kutztown on Oct. 8.
