
Bloomsburg Tops Men's Tennis for Third Place

Bloomsburg, Pa. - Second-seeded Bloomsburg, playing on its home court, denied Millersville its bid for third place in the PSAC Tournament by a 5-1 score Saturday afternoon.
Millersville (5-11), competing in the PSAC Tournament for the third time in as many years under the direction of Shari Bucklin-Webber, managed one point before Bloomsburg closed out the match. The win came from Drew Slocum and Andrew Sorgi at No. 1 doubles by an 8-6 count.
Bloomsburg took the other two doubles bouts to build a 2-1 advantage heading into singles competition. Lee Wexler (No. 3) and Brandon Cummings (No. 5) quickly picked up points for Bloomsburg, and Fernando Perez edged Slocum in the No. 1 spot, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3.
Millersville's season came to a close following the third-place match. Slocum and Sorgi led the Marauders with 11 doubles victories this year. Henry Ben paced the team with nine singles wins. The team boasts a bright future with no seniors graduated and all six top players expected to return next season.
