Millersville, Pa. - The culmination of Millersville's 2010 spring football workouts will take place on Thursday, April 22 at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium with the annual Black & Gold Spring Game.
The Marauders, under the direction of third-year head coach Greg Colby, plan to split into two squads and play a full, four quarter scrimmage. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m., and admission is free.
It will be a sneak preview of the 2010 team for Millersville fans. There is optimism in spring camp with 17 starters returning from a team that flashed talent in the 2009 campaign. Millersville fans are certainly familiar with third-year starting quarterback Bill Shirk, All-PSAC East wide receiver Jamal Smith and All-PSAC East defensive tackle Chad Miller, but the Black & Gold Game will feature an exciting group of wide receivers and a revamped running game with Cardoza Jacks as the featured back.
The defense, which showed signs of improvement in 2009, should be a unit to watch in the spring game with 10 starters returning and a host of young linebackers trying to crack the lineup.
