
Women's Lacrosse Falls to Rollins

Winter Park, Fla. – Rollins started play with a three-goal run in the first two minutes of action to set the pace for the remainder of the game, leading Rollins to a 21-6 victory over Millersville in women's lacrosse action Monday. The Marauders fell to 1-1 and the Tars, with four games under their belt, improved to 3-1.
Trailing by three, freshman Ashley Henderson took control and put the ball in the net at 27:36 to get the Marauders on the board. Rollins quickly answered with a goal 30 seconds later, however, and continued to dominate offensively for the remainder of the period. The Tars poured in 13 more goals, sending the squad into halftime with a 16-1 edge over Millersville.
Senior Liz Weekley opened with second half with two goals in four minutes, giving the Marauders scoring momentum. The Tars offense proved too much, out-shooting Millersville 28-19 in the second period and scoring five more goals en route to victory.
Helping the Tars rack-up the score throughout the evening were Erica Pagliarulo and Sarah Ann Showell. Pagliarulo tallied five goals and added two assists, while Showell recorded four goals.
Mallory Surpless and Marissa Giannerini added three goals apiece. Eight different Tars scored goals, with four tallying assists. Goalkeeper Alyssa Emens set aside nine shots for the Tars.
Weekley's three goals were joined by Henderson's two and one from Brittney Long. Five of the Marauders' six goals came in the second half.
Brianna Huynh totaled two assists for Millersville, and Weekley and Morgan Mangiaruga each added one. Madison Allan recorded five saves in goal, and Courtney Haggerty tallied two.
The Marauders continue non-conference action in Winter Park with a match-up against Stonehill on March 12. Game time is set for 10 a.m.
