Walt Price personified excellence and endurance as a Millersville student-athlete. He participated in intercollegiate athletics year-round, from football in the fall, to wrestling in wintertime, to baseball in the spring. He earned varsity letters in all three sports in each of his four undergraduate years at Millersville.
Price was a two-time PSAC wrestling champion (167 pounds in 1957 and 177 pounds in 1958), and was a two-time runner-up at 190 pounds in 1959 and 1960.
On the gridiron, he earned Little All-America honorable mention in 1960 and competed in the Gem Bowl all-star football game in Chicago.
On the baseball diamond, he earned PSAC honors as the conference's leading hitter in his senior season in 1961 when he hit .475.
For many years, Price served with distinction as head wrestling coach at Manheim Central High School and also was a baseball, football and wrestling mentor at Donegal High School.
Involved in his community, Price has served as playground director for the Boroughs of Columbia and Marietta. He was named Educator of the Year by the Marietta Jaycees in 1980 and was chosen to the Columbia Sports Hall of Fame in 1984.
Price teaches seventh grade geography in the Donegal School District.
