Millersville

Jeff Richter

Jeff Richter arrived with Coach Greg Breitbach prior to the 2013 season and enters his fifth season with the program in 2017. Richter has served in a variety of roles, previously coaching the offensive line and tight ends and is now responsible for the defensive line.

In addition to his duties as a position coach, Richter serves as the program's recruiting coordinator.

Richter, a 2008 graduate of North Dakota, worked directly with Breitbach on the UND offensive staff in 2012. Richter coached the tight ends under Breitbach's offense and served as the Division I FCS program's video coordinator. He played a key role in breakdown of game, opponent and practice film and also recruited Minnesota and California.

Prior to returning to his alma mater, Richter coached two seasons as the tight ends and assistant offensive line coach at Northern State in South Dakota. His career includes a season as the defensive line coach at Red River High School, where in 2009, the team made its first state playoff appearance in six years. Two of his players went on to play at the Division I FCS level.

Richter began his coaching career following his playing career and graduation from North Dakota. He served on the strength and conditioning staff at North Dakota for one year.

As a player, Richter played outside linebacker from 2003-04 and then transitioned to the defensive line where he helped North Dakota to 21-4 record over his junior and senior seasons.

Richter earned his bachelor's degree in physical education and exercise science.
