Larry Earnesty joined the Millersville University Department of Athletics as the associate director of athletics for compliance and academics in the summer of 2016. Earnesty joins the Marauders after serving the previous seven years at the University of New Haven.
In his role at Millersville, Earnesty oversees all aspects of the NCAA compliance and academic support as well as the advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory (SAAC) committee. In addition, Earnesty is the sport administrator to wrestling, women’s lacrosse, women’s swimming, women’s soccer and women’s volleyball. He has helped Millersville set a record for PSAC Scholar-Athletes each season since his arrival, and his work with SAAC has resulted in Millersville hosting three Make-A-Wish wish reveals.Â
Earnesty previously worked as a compliance intern in the athletics department in 2009. Following his internship with the Marauders, Earnesty became the assistant director of athletics for NCAA compliance and student welfare at New Haven and was promoted to associate director of athletics in 2012.
While at New Haven, Earnesty oversaw all aspects of compliance including rules education, eligibility, financial aid and recruiting. His coordination of academic support resulted in a department GPA above 3.0 each semester. Earnesty also worked closely with the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC), raising over $24,000 for Make-A-Wish and hosting a Make-A-Wish Reveal on campus. In addition, Earnesty served as the Sport Oversight for Women’s Tennis as well as the Administrator to Sports Medicine and the Strength and Conditioning staff.
Earnesty was instrumental in the implementation of student-athlete education programing as part of the NCAA CHAMPS Life Skills program and developed the Charger Career Continuum for student-athletes, which helped the student-athletes prepare for careers after graduation.
Earnesty earned a bachelor’s of science in health and physical education from Slippery Rock University in 2007 and a master's of science in sport management in 2009.
Earnesty and his wife Alicia, are the parents of two children: Ariana and Brayden
