SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Millersville University women's soccer team defeated Shippensburg 5-2 on Wednesday, using a four-goal second half to turn a 2-1 deficit into a victory.

The Marauders held a 22-11 shot advantage and put 12 attempts on goal to Shippensburg's five. Aubrey Strohecker finished with four goals on 10 shots and seven shots on goal, including the go-ahead score in the 76th minute. Sierra Crisafulli and Strohecker added goals in the closing stretch as the Marauders pulled away.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Marauders broke through in the first half in the 19th minute, when Strohecker scored off Melanie Love's assist for a 1-0 lead. The goal came during a stretch in which 'Ville generated five shots and two corner kicks, including saved attempts by Strohecker and Ka'ena Scott. The Marauders added saved shots by Cheyenne Forte and Maia Iannuzzi later in the half and went to halftime ahead 1-0.

'Ville overcame a 2-1 second-half deficit with four goals over the final 18 minutes, as Strohecker scored in the 73rd minute to tie it and again in the 76th minute to put the Marauders ahead 3-2. "We lost our composure for a little and paid for it. We made an adjustment then found the tying goal, that momentum pushed us forward" stated head coach Matt Procopio. Crisafulli added a goal from Lia Francis in the 85th minute, and Strohecker finished with her fourth goal in the 89th minute. Strohecker now has 41 career goals, making her Millersville's all-time leading goal scorer. The surge carried the Marauders to a 5-2 final win.

"Unbelievable for Aubrey. Couldn't go to a more deserving player." said Procopio. "So happy for her and her family to enjoy this moment. She didn't score at all as a freshman which makes her last 3 years incredible. It was a tough adjustment for her at first along with injuries but she battled through and now she holds the records. Goals aside she's everything we look for in a student-athlete, does well on and off the field. Been incredible to be part of her journey."

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Strohecker scored four times and totaled eight points
- Crisafulli added a goal on two shots
