Jim Sutrick joined the Millersville football staff as its defensive line coach prior to the 2019 season. Sutrick came to Millersville after six seasons at Division III Pacific Lutheran. He brings to Millersville more than 25 years of experience at a variety of levels.Â
While at Pacific Lutheran, Sutrick worked with the defensive line, special teams and wide receivers. Before entering the collegiate ranks, Sutrick served as the defensive coordinator at Kentwood and Puyallup high schools in Washington, totaling three league championships and two state championships. Sutrick also served as the head coach at Foster High School for four years, leading the team to its best record and and first playoff appearance in over 25 years.Â
Sutrick earned a bachelor's degree in airway science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 1989. He also completed a master's degree in athletic coaching from the United States Sports Academy in 2017. Before entering the coaching ranks, Sutrick worked 26 years as an air traffic controller for the United States government and the Federal Aviation Administration.Â
Jim and his wife, Michelle, have three children: Collin, Kyle and Marcus.Â
