Millersville voted 10th in NFHCA Coaches Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - After a successful week on the field, Millersville finds themselves voted 10th in the National Field Hockey Coach Association (NFHCA) Coaches Poll.
Two weeks into the season and the Marauders are sitting above .500 with an overall record of 3-1. Millersville fell just short of the honor in weeks past, battling their way to prove what they are made of. This past week, Millersville had their first road trip of the season traveling to Assumption and falling behind early in the game 2-0 but battled back strong defensively, not allowing another goal to be scored. This was after the Marauders home win against what was the 10th ranked team in the NFHCA coaches poll in Pace. Tiana Weeks being the star contributing factor in that game scoring the first two goals leading Millersville to a 3-1 win.Â
Their final game of the weekend came just 18 hours after the loss to Assumption as they traveled to American Int'l, hoping to to fight to stay in the win column. After the first quarter it was full steam ahead for the Marauders as they go on to score at least one goal in the remaining three quarters to shutout American Int'l 4-0. Peyton Bean scored the first and last goal with Aftyn Robbins scoring her first collegiate career goal between them. Â
They re not alone, however, in the rankings. The PSAC shows why they are one of the toughest conferences to play in as eight of the ten ranks are occupied but conference rivals. This week begins the Marauders conference play facing fifth ranked West Chester on the road this Thursday and returning home on Saturday to face ninth ranked IUP.Â
