M. Hayes named PSAC East Athlete of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference released its Athletes of the Week on March 23rd, with freshman Marian Hayes being named for women's tennis for the PSAC East.
Hayes delivered a perfect performance against Goldey-Beacom, improving her spring records to 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles. She teamed up with Mia Gassert for a 7-6(5) doubles victory before dominating in singles with a 6-2, 6-1 win.
In two matches last week, Hayes and her doubles partner Lauren Hayes swept their Davis & Elkins opponents 6-0. Hayes followed with a strong 6-1, 6-3 singles win. Against Frostburg State, she battled through three sets, bouncing back to secure a 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 victory.
The Marauders open conference play on Tuesday, March 24 when they host the Golden Rams from West Chester University at 3 p.m.
