
Men's Tennis opens at Goucher College

BALTIMORE, MD. – The Millersville University men's tennis team traveled to Goucher College for a one-day tournament to open their fall season. Joel Oetliker and Milan Urbanek went 2-0 in their singles matches while Sandor Wulf and Arrav Bharti went undefeated in their doubles matches.
The Marauders joined Stevenson University, Gettysburg College, Penn State Harrisburg, Loyola University, and host Goucher College for the one-day event. The event was broken up into several brackets including Singles A (AS), Singles B (BS), Singles C (CS), Singles E (ES), Doubles A (AD), and Doubles B (BD).
Joel Oetliker had an impressive day, advancing with a first-round bye and then defeating Ben O'Connor-Skloot 8-4 to finish a perfect 2-0 in singles play. Milan Urbanek also went undefeated, securing solid wins over Brandon Nguyen (8-3) and Guilherme Moraes (8-4). In doubles, Sandor Wulf and Arrav Bharti posted a strong 2-0 performance with wins over teams from Gettysburg and Goucher College. Meanwhile, the duo of Oetliker and Axel Duclos made a statement by taking down the top-ranked Loyola doubles team with a 6-4 victory. Full scores are below.
Head coach Matt Helsel said, "We got our first taste of competition for the year. It was a good opportunity to see where we were. We are still gelling as a team and figuring out how the pieces fit together."
