MOHNTON, Pa. --- The Millersville men's golf team placed third out of 12 teams in the Alvernia Invitational this past Tuesday at LedgeRock Golf Club.
LedgeRock Golf Club features a very ong course with a hilly terrain, beautiful scenery, and a lot of walking for the athletes. So much so that Alvernia was offering shuttles to certain holes for golfers participating in the event.
Millersville took on the challenge of the course and finished towards the top of the leaderboard due to strong performances all around from the team.
The team leader was freshman
Cole Duffy, who shot four over par at the tournament with a 76. Duffy's impressive performance featured four birdies on holes one, three, eight, and 12. The hard course showed its challenge as through 13 holes, Duffy was sitting at one under par, but the stretch of holes 14-17 included a double bogey and three bogeys.
Following just behind Duffy was Sophomore
Logan Wagner who shot five over par on the day. Wagner started his round in a rough sport being six over through seven holes, but capped off the front nine strong with an eagle on hole eight and a birdie on nine heading into the turn. Wagner would bogey hole 10 and then par every hole until he dropped another stroke with a birdie on hold 16. Wagner ended holes 17 and 18 with two bogeys to push his score back up to five over.
Behind the leaders were
