Pflieger leads Marauders as they dig themselves an early hole after day one of PSAC Championship

| By:
LEBANON, Pa. --- The PSAC Championship teed off earlier this morning at Iron Valley Golf Club and after the first round of 18, the Marauders find themselves at the bottom of the leader board tied with Clarion with a collective 28 over par.

Max Pflieger leads the pack with three over par after the first round of the PSAC Championship. Pflieger had two birdies, 11 pars, three bogeys, and one double bogey to cap off his second ever opening round in the PSAC Championships. Despite being the best performer for the Marauders today, the senior sits at 17th in the field of 46. Following not far behind Pflieger was Josh Baker, who was making his PSAC Championship debut after being a sub last year, and he shot five over par with two birdies. After being one under par through nine holes of play, Baker hit a double bogey on hole 10 to get himself to one over par. After that, he hit two more double bogeys, on holes 10 and 17, to place himself at 25th in the tournament. Without those crucial double bogeys, Baker was slated to have himself a great debut for the Black and Gold, he will look to clean that up and stay ahead of the score sheet in tomorrows round.

As for the rest of the Marauders, Logan Wagner and Cole Duffy shot ten over par in their PSAC Championship debuts, expect their scores to improve the more familiar they get with the course and as the weekend progresses. Right behind them was Bo Meakim, who shot 11 over par after day one.

The Marauders will look to improve their ranks in the leader board as they familiarize themselves with the course and get rounds in a championship setting. The starting five features three newcomers who are making their PSAC Championship debuts in Baker, Duffy, and Wagner. The leader after day one belongs to Shepherds Morgan Dehoff, who is currently five under par. After Dehoff, everyone else is even par or worse on the day so the field still remains open as the Marauders look to claw their way up. Day two tees off tomorrow morning where the Marauders will look to make up ground after a tough first day on the course.
