MILLERSVILLE, Pa. --- The No. 10 ranked Millersville field hockey team (7-8, PSAC 3-4) drop their second match up against the nations top team in Kutztown University (15-0, PSAC 7-0) at Chryst Field Wednesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
This is the second time these two teams met this year and their first bout was arguably a better match up while, despite the loss, the Marauders took the Golden Bears to overtime for them to get it done.
The first half was dominated offensively by the Golden Bears, but it wasn't until 11 seconds remained in the half that the Golden Bears broke the tie and took the lead 1-0. The Golden Bears took five shots before ultimately finding the net on the sixth and had nine penalty corners in the first half.
After the half time break, the Marauders came out hot and tried to tie things up to force overtime with six total penalty corners throughout the second half and three total shots, but the Golden Bears added an insurance goal with just about five minutes remaining in the game to extend their lead at 2-0.

BOX SCORE
- The Marauders had six penalty corners as opposed to Kutztown's 13.
- Millersville was out shot eight to three.
- A tough team came in to town, obviously Kutztown undefeated for a reason. What did you see out of your team that you liked here tonight?
- "I really thought the third and fourth quarter, I would've really liked to start that way. We played with a lot of heart and a lot of grit right...thats their word. I loved our first and second effort in the third and fourth quarter. I would've liked to see us start with that I thought we were real dangerous. We gave up two goals with under 20 seconds to go each and I think that's got to change."
- Now a three game slide here, what is going to be the key to turning that around?
- "I think tonight turned it. I think again if you don't have adversity in a season and you can't have high tide without low tide and I think we've had a lot of things happen off the field that have just been tough for us and we managed it and we're going to keep getting better and we will be back at it."
