LEBANON, Pa. --- Millersville Men's Golf is set to begin the 2025 PSAC Championships with the first of three rounds on Friday Oct. 17 at Iron Valley Golf Club in Lebanon, Pa. The tournament will last through Sunday as the Marauders will look to reclaim some of the glory that has been present in years past. The Marauders won in 2023 and placed third in last years PSAC Championships.
The 54-hole event begins at 10 a.m. on Friday. Millersville's tournament starts in the first wave of golfers along with University of Pittsburgh Johnstown and Gannon. Despite a rough start for the Marauders to the season, they have caught fire in the final two tournaments placing third at the Alvernia Invitational, held at the very hilly and tough LedgeRock Golf Club, and won the Bloomsburg Invitational this past Thursday. Based on their play in the six events that took place during the fall, Millersville has a good chance to be one of the sneaky strong performers in this seasons PSAC Championships.

OUTLOOK FOR THE MARAUDERS The lineup will be anchored by sophomore
Logan Wagner and freshman
Cole Duffy, but senior
Bo Meakim, senior
Max Pflieger, and sophomore
Josh Baker will also be shooting at Iron Valley for the Marauders. The substitute for the Marauders is
Jake Shmonov, who started the season as one of the top performers for the Marauders but since has cooled off.
Wagner has been on a hot streak in the past two events that he has played. At the Alvernia Invitational, he finished tied for eighth and shot his career low as a Marauder in the Bloomsburg Invitational and won the event at two under par.
Cole Duffy has also been on a tear for the Marauders in the past two events. At the Alvernia Invitational, Duffy placed tied for fifth with a score of four over par, the leader for that tournament shot one over par, and at the Bloomsburg Invitational he was trying to jump Wagner as he finished tied for second in that event. The two underclassmen for the Maruaders have really come on in the last two outings and look to build towards their strong play this weekend.
Bo Meakim and
Max Pflieger will be participating in their second PSAC Championship as members of the lineup whereas Baker finds the lineup full time for the first time in his career, last year being the Marauders sub option. Last year, Meakim finished 13th in his championship debut while shooting 12 over through the 54-hole tournament. While there are three golfers for the Marauders making thier PSAC Championship debuts, the much needed veteran experience from
Bo Meakim will be present in hopes to keep the Marauders in contention for the PSAC title.

OUTLOOK ON THE FIELD Gannon will look to repeat as 2024 Champions and are the heavy favorites coming into the championship weekend as they collectively shot nine under par to run away with the title last year. Gannon has been barreling through competition this season so far placing first in three out of the five outings they have participated in. The only outing that Marauders crossed paths with Gannon in so far has been the Sunnehanna Invitational where the Golden Knights placed first and the Marauders placed sixth of 17 teams.
The second place team from last year, Pitt-Johnstown, has had a good season as well this year. The Marauders went head-to-head with them on two occasions, the Penn West Hannastown Invitational and the Pitt-Johnstown Sunnehanna Collegiate. In the Hannastown Invitational, the Marauders shot their worst outing of the season with a ninth place finish, but with a completely different lineup whereas Pitt-Johnstown won that outing. In their second meeting, the Marauders placed sixth out of 17 teams whereas Pitt-Johnstown finished second.
IUP is another strong contender for the crown, as they finished in fourth, just behind the Marauders last year and look to find themselves at the top of the leader board once again. IUP is among one of the more consistent programs in the area with 32 conference championships to their history and with their most recent success being in 2022. IUP has played in three tournaments alongside the Marauders, the Wheeling Invitational (2nd/16), the Hannastown Collegiate Golf Invitational (3rd/15), and the Pitt-Johnstown Sunnehanna Invitational (3rd/17). The Marauders placed 12th, 9th, and 6th in those outings. While the Marauders early numbers don't look the best, they have a lot of momentum coming into a pivotal part of the season.
