EMPORIA, Kan. — The best women's pole vaulter in the PSAC is set to compete in the NCAA Outdoor Championships tomorrow in Emporia, Kan., as Darian Hauf looks to add some more accolades to her resume after winning the conference championship for the third straight year.
This marks Hauf's second time in competing in the NCAA Outdoor Championships after qualifying last year and finishing in a tie for 12th place, earning All-America Second Team honors. Hauf is the only Marauder in program history to not just qualify for the national meet, but also earn All-American status. Last year, she topped out at a height of 12-7 1/2 and entered as the 20th seed. This season, Hauf has greatly improved her results, entering this year as the 12th seed after breaking her own record with a vault of 13-2 1/4. The top seed of the event is Brynn King from Roberts Wesleyan, who hit a mark of 15-4 1/4 this season.
