EMPORIA, Kan. — Millersville pole vaulter Darian Hauf finished in 15th place at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, clearing a height of 12-7 1/2.
The junior from Pylesville, Md. qualified for her second-straight national outdoor championship meet after earning Second-Team All-American honors last year. Aside from being invited to the championships, Hauf's season was highlighted by improving her personal record and a third consecutive conference championship. Hauf hit a mark of 13-2 1/4 at the Millersville Metrics, breaking the meet record and just missing out on the conference record. A month later, she became the first Marauder to win three straight conference championships before her senior season by winning the event with a mark of 12-8 3/4.
"Darian had a really strong season," head coach Andy Young said. "Not the results we wanted today, but she has made a lot of progress with her jumps. She should be excited because much bigger things are coming."
Hauf was the lone Marauder to qualify for the meet, wrapping up the Marauders season.
