INDIANA, Pa. — The Millersville women's tennis season came to a close in the NCAA Tournament preliminary round, as the Marauders fell to Slippery Rock 4–0.
The Marauders kept it closer this time around after losing to The Rock in the PSAC Tournament semifinals, but ultimately the final score remained the same. The match was also moved indoors due to inclement weather. Slippery Rock took the first two doubles results to snag that point, despite the Marauders putting up more resistance in this matchup. Noelle Htwar and Hui Jen Soo's match went unfinished, but the duo only trailed 4–3. Chloe Abramowitz and Sido Rault put up a good fight in the second flight, but fell 6–4. The Rock then took the second, fifth, and sixth singles matches to get the three points necessary to win and advance in the NCAA Tournament. Htwar battled in the top spot and trailed 6–4, 3–3 before her match was stopped. Abramowitz and Rault also competed hard, as Abramowitz hung around 6–4, 3–0, and Rault had a strong second set in her unifinished match of 6–0, 1–3.
It was a strong season for the Marauders, as they tallied 15 wins on the year, added a PSAC East title to their resume, and battled their way back into the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 17 years.
