Angelo named to Tucci/NCFA Player of the Year Watchlist

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After an outstanding start to the season, Millersville softball's Aleese Angelo has been named to the 2024 Tucci/NFCA Division II Player & Pitcher of the Year Watchlist. The 2023 NFCA All-American is one of 15 players in the Atlantic Region and one of nine players in the PSAC to be named to the list.
Angelo's hitting prowess in 2024 has put her at or near the top of most conference and national statistical rankings. She's first in the PSAC in batting average (.519), on-base percentage (.593) and slugging percentage (.986). Those marks all rank among the top 10 in the nation as well, as she's fifth in batting average, fourth in on-base percentage and seventh in slugging percentage. Angelo also leads the PSAC in hits with 37 and has more home runs (eight) than strikeouts (seven).
The Marauder backstop is one of 120 student-athletes across the country named to the watchlist. The accompanying Player and Pitcher of the Year awards will be announced on May 27.
Angelo will look to continue her excellence on March 29, when the Marauders welcome Lock Haven to town for a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
