BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - Millersville started Sunday with a 12-1 win over Bloomsburg and led 7-1 in game two before it was suspended because of snow.
Millersville took the first three games of the series to improve to 13-3 overall and 3-0 in the PSAC East.
In the opener, Alex Mykut (4-0) pitched his second consecutive complete game, striking out 10 and allowing just two hits over seven innings. Bloomsburg's only two hits were singles, and only once did the Huskies put a runner into scoring position.
Mark McNelly drove in four runs, scored three with two hits and a walk, and stole three bases in game one. McNelly's bases-clearing triple in the seventh inning pushed the Marauders' lead to 12-1. Amani Jones went 2 for 4 with two runs, Matthew Williams drove in three, reaching base three times with a single and two walks. Sam Morris also provided two hits, and Keegan Soltis drove in Millersville's first two runs with a double in the first inning.
Millersville was just two outs away from a four-game series sweep in game two when umpires halted play because of snow. Millersville led 7-1, and Bloomsburg had a runner on second, but Conor Cook was cruising when the game was suspended. Cook had allowed one run and four hits while striking out four in 4 1/3.
The Marauders raced to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first. Justin Taylor was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, and John Seibert followed with a two-run single. Millersville built its six-run lead on just six hits, three of which were off of Seibert's bat. Millersville also totaled five walks.
