Millersville placed second at the Howard "Bud" Elwell Invitational

FAIRVIEW, Pa. - Eric Miller and Timothy Peters tied for fourth place, helping the Millersville men's golf team to a runner-up finish at the two-day Howard "Bud" Elwell Invitational.

Host Gannon ran away with the tournament win behind an incredible 10-under performance by Rasmus Seppanen. He was the only golfer in the field to break par for the tournament. Gannon shot rounds of 283 and 294 to finish 26 shots in from the Marauders, who posted scores of 300 and 303.

Millersville has now finished first or second in all four tournaments of the season. Their efforts at Whispering Woods Golf Club were powered by Miller and Peters, who both finished at 2-over. Miller's even-par 70 was the second-best round on Tuesday, and he was at 4-under before bogeys on the 17th and 18th. His round included an eagle 2 on the par-4 13th. Miller recorded new 18-hole and 36-hole career bests.

Peters posted his fourth top-10 in as many events. He opened with a 1-under 71 but like Miller, he struggled on the final two holes of the tournament, playing the 17th and 18th in 3-over. His final round included four birdies.

Bo Meakim placed seventh for his second top-10 of the season. His tournament started with a 72, and he closed with a 77. Freshman Sebastian Botero was Millersville's No. 4 scorer, placing 33rd at 19-over. Josh Baker, playing as an individual, made his way into the top 25 with a 14-over toal.
