'Ville finishes 12th at Wheeling Invitational

ST. CLAIRSVILLE, OH — Millersville men's golf placed 12th in the Wheeling Invitational that took place Thursday and Friday. The two-round invitational was played at Belmont Hills Golf Course and concluded this afternoon.

The Marauders, as a team, placed 12th in the invitational. Millersville shot a collective 38 over par and was unable to move on the leader board, remaining in 12th place where they finished yesterday. In round one, the Marauders shot 18 over par, and in round two, they shot 20 over par.

Jake Schomonov finished highest on the leader board for the Marauders in individual play, placing 20th. Schomonov shot one over in round two and ended the tournament at five over par with 26 pars, two birdies, and one eagle on the scorecard.

The next closest Marauder was Cole Duffy, who placed 34th in his first collegiate action. Duffy recorded 23 pars and three birdies.

Eric Miller placed 50th in individual play, shooting 12 over par with five birdies.

Other Marauders who followed were Maxwell Pfleiger (54th) and Logan Wagner (62nd).

The Marauders will be back in action Sunday at the Dickinson Invitational.
