With golf in fall and spring and wrestling in the winter, Connor Sheehan balanced life as a two-sport athlete and became one of the most decorated golfers in the history of Millersville University, winning the PSAC Men’s Golf Athlete of the Year award and qualifying for the NCAA Division II Championships.

Sheehan earned All-PSAC First Team honors in 2017 and 2018 and GCAA/PING All-Atlantic Region recognition three times. He finished third at the NCAA Atlantic/East Super Regional as a junior and senior, placed runner-up at the 2018 PSAC Championships, and set Millersville records for lowest round and season scoring average.

A four-year starter Scott Vandegrift’s program, Sheehan played in the PSAC Championships and Super Regional all four seasons. He placed in the top 10 14 times in 35 events and won twice during the 2016-17 season. Sheehan made history that season by becoming the second Marauder to qualify as an individual for the NCAA Division II Championships. He did so by shooting 5-under in the 36-hole Super Regional.

His senior season established his career among the best ever by a Marauder. His 66 in the final round of the Le Moyne Invitational matched the lowest in Millersville history. He posted a 3-under score to finish as the PSAC Championship runner-up and finished third at the Super Regional for the second consecutive season, narrowly missing a second consecutive berth to the NCAA Championships. Sheehan’s 72.8 scoring average set a Millersville record, and he graduated with the program’s fifth-lowest scoring average.

On the mat, Sheehan wrestled at 125 pounds for four seasons, compiling 27 wins, including 12 as a junior when he went 5-1 in duals and competed at the NCAA Super Regional. In 2015, he won the Messiah Open at 125 pounds.

Following graduation, Sheehan married Taylor Parker ’17, an All-American for the Millersville field hockey program. He is now a teacher, high school golf coach and junior high wrestling coach at Manheim Central.
