Women's tennis falls in first dual of the spring

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Millersville women's tennis team's spring semester of competition started with a 6-1 loss to Salem late Friday night at the Hempfield Sports Center.
Millersville is now 0-2, having last played a dual on Sept. 28. Salem improved to 2-1.
The Marauders' point came from doubles where they won two of three matches. Noelle Htwar and Hui Jen Soo teamed in the No. 1 flight to top Ana Kunic and Daria Korsakova, 6-4. Sophie Lanius and Sarah McComas outlasted Kylie Diaz and Melanie Coric in the No. 3 spot, 7-6 (7-4).
Salem swept the six singles matches. Htwar presented a challenge to Kunic in the No. 1 flight, winning the first set (6-4) before Kunic won in three (6-2, 6-4).
