Marauder men's golf team takes sixth at Mercyhurst Invitational

ERIE, Pa. - The Millersville men's golf team turned in a sixth-place finish in a field of 16 teams at the Mercyhurst Fall Invitational. 

Millersville posted a first round 299 and a second round 308, finishing 21 shots behind first-place Gannon. 

Freshman Jake Speers paced the Marauders with a 3-over total, shooting a 74 in the first round and a 73 in round two. Cal U's Reese Watson earned medalist honors with a 4-under-par score, winning the event by three shots. 

Freshman Timothy Peters was the only other Marauder to crack the top 25. He opened with an even-par 72 before slipping down the leaderboard with a 79 on Saturday. Ty Morral and Carl Ernst tied for 28th at 10-over for the event. Bobby Lugiano finished one shot behind in a tie for 32nd. 

Millersville continues action on Sunday and Monday in the Gannon Invitational.
