LEBANON, Pa. - Winning has become a regular occurrence for the Millersville men's golf team. Less than 24 hours after celebrating a PSAC Championship, the Marauders closed their ultra-successful fall campaign with a 17-shot victory at the Lebanon Valley Invitational--their fourth tournament win in a row.
Carl Ernst earned medalist honors.
It was Millersville's fourth round of competitive golf in as many days and also their fourth team victory in the last 12 days. Before the recent two-week stretch, Millersville had not won four team tournaments in an entire season since 2002-03. Ernst, who tied for first but lost out on a matching cards tiebreaker at the Dickinson Invitational on Oct. 14, won outright for the first time in his career, shooting a 1-over-par 73 while teammate
Ty Morral shot a 74 for his first career runner-up finish.
Playing at Lebanon Country Club, the Marauders posted an 18-over-par 306. Chestnut Hill was the nearest competitor, shooting a 323.
Bo Meakim returned to Millersville's lineup and finished in a tie for fifth with a 6-over 78.
Drew VonStein made his first appearance of the 2023-24 season and finished ninth with an 80. After a runner-up finish at the PSAC Championships,
Bobby Lugiano placed in a tie for 10th with an 81. The PSAC champ,
Timothy Peters, tied for 19th with an 83.
