CARLISLE, Pa. - The Millersville men's golf team won its second event in three days, shooting an even-par score at Carlisle Barracks Golf Club for first place at the Dickinson Invitational.
Carl Ernst fired a career-low 4-under-par 68 to tie for first, but medalist honors went to Mount Saint Mary's Aaron Sorkin on a match of cards comparing a six-hole stretch on the back nine. While Sorkin had the advantage in that tiebreaker, Ernst is the third Marauder this season to tie for or finish in outright first place.
The Marauders won the event by eight shots, besting one of two Franklin & Marshall lineups. Ernst was one of three Marauders to fire an under-par score.
Bobby Lugiano shot a 2-under 68 to tie for third.
Timothy Peters, coming off a playoff win on Thursday, shot a career-low 1-under-par 71 to tie for sixth.
Ty Morral's 7-over 79 counted toward the Millersville score as well.
Bo Meakim and
Eric Miller were played as individuals, and Meakim tied for 19th with a 4-over-par 76. Miller shot a 77 to tie for 32nd in the 84-player field.
With back-to-back wins and five top-three finishes in six events, Millersville carries plenty of momentum into the three-day PSAC Championship, which starts on Friday, Oct. 20 at Iron Valley Golf Club in Lebanon.
