Slippery Rock downs Marauders in PSAC Semifinals

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The PSAC Tournament run for the Millersville women's tennis team was ended by Slippery Rock in Friday's semifinals by a 4-0 score.
Slippery Rock (15-6) handed Millersville (15-8) its final regular season loss a week ago and then blanked the Marauders again in the postseason. The Rock, the No. 2 seed from the PSAC West, advances to the championship to play West No. 1 seed IUP.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
• Slippery Rock scored wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to clinch the match's first point. In singles, No. 1, No. 3 and No. 5 flights finished as all three went to The Rock for the match-clinching fourth point. Lois Page topped Jasmine Morris 6-4, 6-1 in the No. 1 flight. Gabriela del Val del Toro topped Noelle Htwar, 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 3 spot. At No. 5, Zoe Heed scored a 6-0, 6-1 win over Kelsey Heckert.
NOTES
• Millersville won the PSAC Eastern Division for the first time, going 7-0 against division competition. Millersville also won its most matches since 2002 and advanced to the PSAC Tournament for the third season in a row.
• Millersville must now await the May 3 NCAA Selection Show to see if its season continues in the NCAA Tournament. The Marauders were ranked No. 7 in the last Atlantic Region rankings.
